033 - N.S.W. CHANGEOVER BREAKFAST & TROPHY PRESENTATION
Photos - Francois Vivot

On Sunday 9th September, 2007 the stalwarts gathered for breakfast.
This year our club selected a different format and venue to welcome the new 2007/2008 committee and present trophies to the club Concours winners.

The venue was the Western Sydney Regional Park, Plow and Harrow picnic ground. Being an outdoor venue, good weather was essential and the week prior to the event was raining nearly every day. However, the day dawned bright and sunny and although a little rain fell briefly during the day the weather was okay.

A hearty hot breakfast, consisting of bacon, eggs, sausages, onion, mushrooms and tomatoes together with fruit juice, fresh fruit, tea and coffee was served about 10.00 am. This put everyone in a good mood and the trophies were presented about 11.00 am. Additional to the perpetual and personal trophy awarded to category winners, each recipient received a 'hubcap' clock donated by the big 'O', Owen Mansford. Thank you Owen for your kind donations and helping me present the trophies.

Congratulations to all winners and especially Jim Russell, being Clubman of the year. Jim has worked very hard behind the scenes for the benefit of the club and is currently the Historic Plates Registrar, often a thankless job.

I wish to thank everyone involved in helping me on the day, the cooks, Colin for supplying the heating ring to boil the water and Claus for bringing the heater. I'm sure a lot of people appreciated it. I also thank everyone for coming and helping make the day a success.

Nobody seemed to want to go home after breakfast and trophy presentation, most people sitting around talking as they do at Buick functions. I think the last people left about 2.30 in the afternoon. If you didn't come, you missed out on a great breakfast and Buick fellowship.
